Black Leopards Football Club coach Kosta Papic has resigned after joining the club from Polokwane City Football Club in November last year.
Club Spokesperson, Berry Ramunenyiwa informed that Papic handed in his resignation on Tuesday.
“We are still surprised by his resignation. We did not expect it. The players and supporters loved him but he felt that he was not contributing in helping the team to reach its target. He was not winning matches he wanted to win.
“We like him. He is like family and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” Ramunenywiwa said.
The Serbian-born coach started the season with Polokwane City Football Club but parted ways with them in October last year, after only six league games in charge. He then joined Leopards in November with the hope of gaining promotion to the Premier Soccer League at the end of the season.
Papic leaves Leopards in 9th position of the National First Division with 28 points after 22 matches.
Ramunenywiwa
told Polokwane Observer yesterday (Wednesday) that former Baroka Football Club coach Sello Chokoe will take over the team until the end of the season.
