Following their much needed 1-0 victory against Amazulu on Sunday, the Management of Baroka Football Club intends approaching the last eight matches of the National First Division (NFD) with caution.
Baroka, presently on top of the division, have amassed 46 points from 22 matches and needs to win all their remaining matches to get promoted to the Premier Soccer League (PSL). They will contest for maximum points against Santos, Witbank Spurs, Mbombela United, Vasco Da Gama, Thanda Royal Zulu, Royal Eagles, African Warriors and Milano United.
Baroka has since the beginning of the 2015/2016 NFD season lost only to FC Cape Town and Witbank Spurs.
The team’s Technical Director Oupa Kgoadi said the last remaining matches are going to be tough and they will need to be more cautious and not drop points. “The victory against Amazulu lifted us. We thought the players will be carried away after the Nedbank Cup victory against Chippa United but they remained humble and delivered on the day. They showed character and played their hearts out. They understand that the promise land is just around the corner and they know what is needed out of them. They also understand the importance of winning every match whether it is at home or away. We have to more focus and approach every match like a final. We know we can do it because of the hard workers in the team,” Kgoadi said.
