Polokwane Oval hosts successful Stockrod Superbowl

Motor racing enthusiasts were treated to some top class oval racing during the Stockrod Superbowl hosted at Polokwane Oval on Saturday.
Though the action was concentrated to the Stockrod class which was ruled by Michael Myburgh from Mahem Oval Racing in Pretoria, Polokwane Oval also hosted their club championships which saw local drivers performing well in respective classes. Hennie de Koker and Herman Nel finished second and third respectively in the Stockrod class.
The fast growing and popular class of the Ninja Midgets was ruled by JC Oosthuizen with Philip Jacobs in second and Stephan Pienaar in third.

The Van Breda siblings, Roean and Roeline once again gave each other a hard time on the track but Roean kept his cool to claim first position. Roeline finished third with Rudi Kronström taking second place in the Rookie class.
Boela Bekker from Mokopane took the lead in the 1660s class giving JJ Fourie and WF Weideman the opportunity to settle for second and third position.
The 2.1 litre Modified class delivered surprising results with all time favourite Roelof van Breda finishing in third place. Rudolf and Johnny Durant battled it out for the top two positions with Johnny being handed the chequered flag while Allas Pie­naar, Stephan Weideman and WF Weideman took the first three positions on the podium in the Hotrods class.
Polokwane Oval Promoter Stephan Weideman reminded spectators of the next club championships to be hosted in Polo­kwane on 9 April.
