Polokwane Athletic Club (PAC) will on 23 January host the annual Seeff Road Race and for the first time offer runners the option of a 21,1 km race. The 5 km fun run and 10 km categories are also available.
“This is the first organised road race for the 2016 running year for Limpopo and we urge athletes to participate and to get into shape for a busy year,” PAC Chairperson Corrie Calitz said.
Seeff Properties’ offices at Platinum Park will serve as starting and finishing point for the race. The starting time is scheduled for 07:00. Water and Coca-Cola will be available at all water points approximately every three kilometre on the race route. Medals will be handed to the first 400 finishers of the 5 km and to the first 250 finishers of the 10 km and 21 km respectively.
Entries can be made at Seeff’s offices on the day prior to the race from 17:00 to 19:00 and on the morning of the race from 05:00 to 06:55. The entry fee for the fun run is R30, R50 for the 10 km and R80 for the 21,1 km race.
“It is important for participants in the 10 km and 21,1 km races to be in possession of a permanent Athletics South Africa (ASA) licence. Temporary licences will however be sold at the venue before the start of the race at R30,” Calitz said.
For more information contact the race organiser Mike Maruma on 072 149 2674 or Calitz on 082 464 1963.
