Spectators at the Polokwane Oval are in for a surprise with more than 100 petrol heads in nine classes expected to compete in the third leg of the National Oval Championship on Saturday.
Gates open at 07:00 with the qualifying rounds to start at 09:30. The official adrenaline charged race will start at 16:00 and entry fees for adults are R60 and R20 for children.
Polokwane Oval Promoter Stephan Weideman said spectator can look forward to racing action from competitors across the country in the Ninja Midgets, Super Midgets, Stockrods, 1660, Pintos, 2,0 litre Modifieds, V8 Super Saloons, Hotrods and Sprints classes. “We are proud to have to current South African champion in our midst, Osie Weyers from Cape Town who will be seen in action in his BMW in the V8 Super Saloon class. In the Sprints local driver Roelph Nel is also expected to perform well,” Weideman said.
He invited Polokwane residents to support the event and especially local drivers who will be chasing the title as national winner in each class.
Food and beverages are for sale on the premises.
