Limpopo’s Action Cricket teams made their presence felt during the recent inter-provincial tournament that was hosted by Polokwane Action Sport.
Of the three Limpopo teams that entered the tournament, the Mixed Open team had the most success and went through to the finals where they lost 64-68 to KwaZulu-Natal to take home silver medals.
The Limpopo Mixed Open Invitational team finished in overall sixth place. In the Mixed Over-30s category the Limpopo team beat KwaZulu-Natal 85-64 for the third place and bronze medals.
Several members of the Limpopo team were awarded for their performance. Cecil Viljoen was named Best Batsman of the tournament in the Mixed Opens category and Tony Jardim Best Batsman of the tournament in the Mixed Over-30s category. Also in the Mixed Over-30s category Andrew Galloway was named Best Bowler of the tournament and Pierre Bloem Best Overall Player.
Lelane van der Merwe and Andy Muller, organisers of the tournament, said the event was a huge success. They thanked everyone who helped make the event possible.
