Zanis excels at interprovincial competition

Thirty-one rhythmic gymnasts from Zanis Gymnastics Academy claimed 33 medals, of which 12 were gold, 12 silver and nine bronze at the recent South African (SA) Interprovincial Competition for Gymnastics held at Berario, Randburg. Four hundred and sixty-seven gymnasts from all nine provinces competed.
The academy delivered 11 rostrum winners and 22 apparatus medallists. “This was an excellent performance by Zanis gymnasts,” the academy’s Head Coach, Zani Prinsloo said. She further informed that the team was instrumental in Team Limpopo’s exceptional results namely winning the trophy on Level 3, being the runners-up on Level 2 and obtaining position 3 on Level 1.
Results:
Age section winners and gold medallists: Thato Moeno (u.9, level 1) Potego Matsebe (u.11, level 1), Mikaila Jacobs (u.8, level 2), Rotondwa Maudu (u.9, level 3) and Niane Coetzee (u.10, level 3). Each of them also received a crown and a huge teddy bear.
Silver medallists: Ofilwe Hlabyago (u.9, level 2), Caitlin Smith (over 11, level 2) and Melchizedek Maponya (under 8, level 3).
Bronze medallists: Jeanine van Staden (u.8, level 1), Malebo Ledwaba (u.10, level 1), Mutshidzi Malumedzha (u.8, level 2), Neo Mogoshoa (over 11, level 2) and Tammylee Ferreira (u.10, level 3).
