Former Moroka Swallows Coach, Zecca Marques stepped down as Black Leopards Football Club Coach last Wednesday.
Zeca Marques joined the club in January this year from Moroka Swallows and led them to the National First Division Promotional Play-offs which they lost to Jomo Cosmos in May.
During his tenure at Leopards, Marques made a huge impact on the team. When he arrived he found them lying in an unsteady 11th position, a situation he swung around to have them finish in third.
He cited family reasons as one of the motives for his unexpected departure from the team.
Black Leopards Spokesperson, Berry Ramunenyiwa thanked Marques for the contribution he made while he was still the coach and wished him well in his future endeavours. “He has left the club for Santos and we wish him well. It was an amicable split; he found the team in a good state and he left us in a better state,” he said.
Ramunenyiwa also informed that the team’s goalkeeper coach, Joel Masutha has been appointed as interim coach until further notice. “He has been with club for quite a long time now and he knows the club very well. He will take care of the team until we appoint the head coach,” Ramunenyiwa said.
