Polokwane City Football Club has released the bulk of players that were part of last season’s team to other clubs in order to accommodate new recruits.
The team last month announced that it had signed former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Punch Masenamela, Nazier Jacobs from Milano United and Randy Ngobe from Witbank Spurs.
Players who have been released include Modiri Marumo, Vukile Mgqibisa, Kabelo Lichaba, Maxwell Molala, Ransford Osei and Joseph Musonda, all of whom who joined the club in the 2012/13 and 2014/15 Premier Soccer League seasons respectively.
The club’s Chief Operations Officer, Tincy Tema said the reason for releasing the players is that their contracts were coming to an end.
