[COLUMN] Limpopo, alive with possibilities

Elvis Masoga

IN all my life, I have always been mesmerised by persons who ultimately achieve epochal greatness against all odds. These are the kind of highly inspirational persons who prove to the world that “impossible is nothing”. A gorgeously beautiful and brilliant-minded young lady from Ha-Masia village in Vhembe region, in Limpopo, has just won the prestigious crown of Miss South Africa. This exquisitely gorgeous and smartly ingenious lady is named Shudufhadzo Musida, a humble aboriginal resident of Limpopo province. She holds a degree in political philosophy and is presently enrolled for an honours degree in international relations with Wits University. Our great province of Limpopo is increasingly becoming an iconic cradle of beauty, academic brilliance and musical sophistry.

Shudufhadzo, is a precious embodiment of angelic humility, ingenious wisdom, tenacious resilience and meticulous diligence. Her superb articulation of cognitive intelligence is as enlightening as her stunning vivacious cuteness. As Limpopo residents, we feel a tickling sensation in our hearts to know that our province has once again achieved a mantle of greatness. Shortly after being pronounced as the winner of Miss South Africa, she expressed this humbling appreciation: “It took an entire village to get me here and I would like to thank all of you for being my village. I stand here today as your Miss SA with immense pride and joy to be representing such a beautiful nation… Through this platform, I plan to mobilise various stakeholders and the entire nation so we can bring about educational empowerment through tackling issues such as period poverty among young girls, workshops that teach children about the importance of mental health from a young age, and mentorship programmes for young women so they can be empowered to be agents of their own future.”

Truthfully, Shudufhadzo’s precious achievement sharply reminds me of our former president, Thabo Mbeki’s poetic pearls of wisdom: “I smile, because South Africans are creating a new beautiful dawn every day.”

Today I’m smiling, because Limpopo residents are proudly steering our country to higher heights of greatness.

May the Almighty God bless and glorify Shudufhadzo on her new path of national inspiration and international greatness. As Limpopo residents, we all share and rejoice in her glorious moments of prestigious advancement. Our province is indeed a fulfilling fountain of tenacious willpower and inspirational idealism. Our aspirational dreams are far much greater than our imaginary fears and doubts.

Well done and congratulations our most beautiful Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida. I smile, because Limpopo province is alive with great possibilities.
