POLOKWANE – It is a widely accepted belief among trainers that the key to fitness and getting into shape is working on your core. Personal trainer in the city, Liana Fourie agrees.
She suggests that anyone new to the world of fitness should look at a variety of exercises that can help strengthen and build their core muscles. “Jack knives, dead bugs and back extensions done in sets of 3 or for 60 seconds do wonders for your core,” Fourie explains.
She also suggests doing Russian twists but says she got the best results by doing a basic plank exercise. Planks are great because they ensure all the muscle groups are exercised simultaneously.
Here are a few plank exercises to get you started!
