What is happening to our town?

KORNY Dekker, Democratic Alliance councilor of ward 31, wrote a letter to Bosveld, were he expressed his concerns regarding the condition of our once beautiful town.

MOKOPANE – KORNY Dekker, Democratic Alliance councilor of ward 31, wrote a letter to Bosveld, were he expressed his concerns regarding the condition of our once beautiful town. What is happening to our town? Five weeks ago the MEC of cooperative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs, Mmakoma Makhurupetje, launched the so called Back To Basics program in Mogalakwena.

Makhurupetje’s words to every municipal worker was, “get out there and start working, lets get back to basics and serve the community of Mogalakwena to ensure that they get the best service delivery possible!”
That is where it stopped! Every official received an overall with the slogan on the back “ GET BACK TO BASICS”
That is exactly what happened, they all went back to basics, namely poor service delivery.
It seems to me that the department of parks is non-existent. They are only doing window dressing.
Exactly one week ago this department started to cut the grass next to Thabo Mbeki Street, and that is where it stopped.
They started but did not finish.
The entrance to Mokopane, where hundreds of visitors entered two weeks ago for the 52nd Bosveld Inter-high at Hoërskool Piet Potgieter, is a disgrace. Is this truly something to be proud of?
On the corner of Vanadium Street in Chroompark, a pothole was reported more than a year ago,of which up to date, nothing has been done about it. The DA reports the basic non existence of service delivery on a daily basis to the officials in charge, but without any proof of success!
I ask again what is happening to our once beautiful town?
Regards
Korny Dekker (DA councilor of ward 31)
Bosveld tried numerous times to get hold of Meriam Molala, community manager at Mogalakwena Municipality, for comment, but was unable to get hold of her.
