POLOKWANE – Ammaarah Kalla, a promising equestrian from Northern Muslim School (NMS), represented her school this year at the South African National Equestrian Schools Association (SANESA) qualifying events.
SANESA has four qualifiers per year, per province in which all the schools within the province are welcomed in participating.
Limpopo has finalised the last of their four qualifiers, where after provincial teams are selected to qualify for the National Competition in Gauteng at Kyalami Equestrian Park in September.
The 12-year-old was victorious in her jumping class in the Qualifier 4 held on July 20. Selection of the provincial team is based on scoring of an average across at least three of the SANESA qualifier events.
“Whatever the outcome of the provincial team selection is, I am very pleased with my result in the qualifiers. I am grateful for all experiences, the hard work, and want to make the best of all opportunities,“ said Kalla.
Principal Takura Warinda expressed pride in Kalla’s achievements and wished her well for the upcoming Limpopo teams selection.
“She is an excellent all-round learner excelling academically, in sports and other extracurricular activities. She is an ambassador for the school and has our full support. We encourage her to reach for the stars, enjoy herself and aim to showcase her talents on the larger scale.“
