Taxila’s Tshegofatso takes third spot in the province

Morapedi added that this is outside the realm of my imagination and I'm beyond grateful for this achievement, all thanks to God.

POLOKWANE – Taxila Secondary School’s Tshegofatso Morapedi, the third best performing Limpopo matriculant of 2023, obtained 100% for mathematics in the National Senior Certificate exams and agricultural sciences, a feat the school is indeed very proud of.

Morapedi, who successfully obtained distinctions in all seven of her subjects was successfully accepted at the University of Cape Town to study actuarial science. “I was overwhelmed when I received the award. There are many matriculants who are well deserving of the recognition and I feel honoured to be among the ones who were awarded. This is outside the realm of my imagination and I’m beyond grateful for this achievement, all thanks to God.”

Morapedi added that she was interested in studying actuarial science since it’s a challenging, intellectually stimulating and rewarding career that suits an analytical mind like hers.

Taxila deputy principal Ngoako Phefadu congratulated Morapedi and told Review the staff and learners are celebrating quality results of the Class of 2023. “Our learners did well with the guidance of hard-working teachers under the leadership of the principal, Ramara Tlou. We obtained a 97,6 % pass rate with 11 of our learners obtaining distinctions in all their subjects. This performance lives up to the school’s motto which is ‘fountain of excellence’. Well done to Morapedi and all the learners who obtained these results,” Phefadu said.

Morapedi thanked Taxila staff, teachers, and the principal for their guidance. “I would also like to thank my parents for the support they’ve given me. I will also miss my classmates, we had a good and successful year all round.”

Department of Education circuit manager of the Capricorn South District, Pietersburg Circuit Biddy Ratale congratulated Morapedi on her achievement and for representing the province well.
