POLOKWANE- Bet-Shalom Christian School’s drum majorettes travelled to Durban last month to compete in the South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association Nationals 2023.

Drummies coach Yolandie Viljoen, who travelled with the girls, told Review that though the team did not make a podium spot, they still deserved to be spoiled and rewarded for their hard work.

“The experience was awesome. The team understands that with every competition they get to sharpen their skills, strategy and synchronisation even more and they get to see where there can improve next time.” she said.

During the five days of the competition, the team participated in the large drill, flag group and small pom-pom groups categories and all the performances were broadcast live on SuperSport.

“Memories such as these should be cherished regardless of a win or not, and that’s why we felt the need to unwind at the beach and walk the theme park at uShaka Marine World after the competition,” Viljoen remarked.

The team returned on Friday and couldn’t have been more grateful for the experience.
