POLOKWANE- The senior soccer team of Laerskool Ivypark were crowned the champions of the Limpopo Primary School Soccer League on June 1, after they beat PEMPS senior team 3-1 in the final match of the league hosted at PEMPS.
Tshego Matloga, Kamogelo Moalmedi and their captain Puseletso Ramoshaba scored for the team in the last 10 minutes of the thrilling match.
Puseletso applauded his teammates’ great performance throughout the season.
“All the schools we played against were tough. We are happy to get one over PEMPS. They have talented players who can win any match on the day. We want to thank our teachers, who helped us to train us and prepare for the matches. They coached us well in every match and we are happy to make them proud as well.”
Willem Opperman, the principal said their achievement has set a challenge for the school’s feeder teams.
“They have set a good tone for players in other age groups as to what can be done, and have shown that anything is possible with commitment and hard work. We are truly proud of them.”
