Jabez drum majorettes take podium places at provincial event

Jabez principal Dr Elana Erasmus said their drum majorettes have put in a lot of effort in preparing for the event and is confident that they will do their best at nationals.

POLOKWANE- Drum majorettes from Jabez Christian Academy excelled again when they claimed podium positions during the Limpopo Majorette Cheerleading Association (LIMCA) provincial competition that was hosted by the school at Tom Naudé Technical High School on Saturday.

Three secondary schools and nine primary schools from Limpopo participated in large drill, small drill, mace, baton, flag and cheerleading categories which provided a day of great entertainment for visitors.

The Jabez groups emerged third overall in small drill, second in baton, mace and large drill and qualified to participate in the national championships that is scheduled to take place in Durban during the first week of July.

Jabez principal, Dr Elana Erasmus said that it was an honour for Jabez to host the event and she thanked Sasko Bakeries for their sponsorship.

“Our drum majorettes have put in a lot of time and energy in preparating for the event and I am confident that they will do their best at the nationals. The drum majorettes is one of the school’s flagship activities,” Erasmus said.
