Family Fair at Mitchell House brings families together

The event served as a platform to welcome families back, get to know each other and have fun together in the new academic year.

POLOKWANE – Mitchell House Parents Association (PA) hosted their first Family Fun Fair on March 4 at the school’s premises.

The event served as a platform to welcome families back, get to know each other and have fun together in the new academic year.

The success of this first ever event could be measured by the many compliments that were received, and plans are now afoot to host it twice a year.

Picnic sports, food and snack shops, games, and inflatables were offered and tickets were sold beforehand.

The chairperson of the Mitchell House PA, Nare Mogotsi said every year the association creates a family-oriented event to bring Mitchell Housers together.

“It’s about building a bigger and better Mitchell House community, based on the saying that it takes a village to raise a child.”

Parents reconnect and re-energise in the events while getting to know other parents as well as along kids have fun throughout the day.

Some put up tents on the grassy areas and the benches and sat back to listen to some relaxing music as kids ran around playing with toy guns and rotated among the inflatable castles, jumping from one to the next, while others played soccer.

The day was well coordinated and the help of supporters families agreed that they all had a marvelous time.
