Taxila Secondary School celebrates 40 years of excellence
With Gr 12 learners in the spotlight as the National Senior Certificate examinations approach, principal Tlou Ramara asked them to be among the good memories created at the school by reaching a 100% pass rate.
POLOKWANE – Forty years of sheer excellence at Taxila Secondary School was celebrated on October 21 with esteemed guests present.
Polokwane Mayor John Mpe, some executive members of the Department of Education, retired employees and principals from neighbouring schools such as Noorderland High School congratulated the current principal Tlou Ramara for steering the ship this far.
With Gr 12 learners in the spotlight as the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations approach, Ramara asked them to be among the good memories created at the school by reaching a 100% pass rate.
The school was sung praises by various speakers who said the learners carry the highest form of discipline and a teachable spirit.
The learners showcased their artistic abilities by performing Indian dances and choir songs which kept the audience entertained.
Mpe said he entrusts the school’s matriculating learners with the duty to represent Polokwane at national level, when NSC results are released in January 2023.
He says this will help them qualify for the soon-to-be-announced municipal bursary, where first-year students of higher institutions will be assisted with paying their fees.
“This gesture is one of the ways in which we translate our words into concrete action, to assist in the achievement of excellence,” he said.
