Thorntree Prep School’s R5 challenge raises R4 000 for SPCA

Thorntree Prep School learners raised R4 000 for the SPCA Mokopane through their R5 Challenge, promoting animal welfare and kindness.

MOKOPANE – The SPCA is dedicated to the welfare of all animals, not just dogs and cats, and ensures that residents are educated on proper animal care.

In serious cases, the organisation takes necessary legal action to ensure animal protection.

Elzette van Zyl, the manager of the SPCA Mokopane, shared this message with the learners of Thorntree Preparatory School last Wednesday.

The school is beaming with pride after their learners participated in a fundraising initiative, namely the R5 Challenge.

Through their hard work and generosity, learners collected over R4 000 in R5 coins for the SPCA.

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each learner for your outstanding efforts in collecting R5 coins for our SPCA fundraiser,” said Mariam Cassim, a teacher at Thorntree.

“Your selflessness, compassion, and dedication to helping those in need are truly inspiring. Together, we have made a significant impact, collecting a staggering R4 000. This amount will go a long way in supporting the incredible work of our local SPCA.”

The SPCA team expressed their appreciation for the donation, which will help them continue providing care and support to the animals in their care.

“To every learner, thank you for your enthusiasm, hard work, and generosity. You have shown that even small actions can add up to make a big difference,” Mariam concluded.
