POLOKWANE – A 2004 Bell 206L-4 Long Ranger helicopter with registration number ZS-RAC crashed in the Polokwane Game Reserve earlier this morning (February 5).
The pilot was the only person on board and was killed, according to an emergency service source on the scene.
Another source on the scene told the Polokwane Observer that the aircraft was en route from Zimbabwe on a routine flight when the accident occurred.
The South African Police Service was on the scene to gather evidence for an investigation and the South African Civil Aviation Authority has been notified.
