Mrs Limpopo leads food drive initiative

Join Jolene du Bruyn on November 9 at Platinum Park Spar to donate non-perishables and help build hope for families in need.

POLOKWANE – He might be sitting next to your child in class or running around with him at break. His parents, quietly working, wonder where their next meal will come from.

Even with employment, unexpected challenges can leave families struggling to afford basic needs.

Mrs Limpopo 2025, Jolene du Bruyn, is urging the community to come together and donate food for those in need.

On November 9, she and her team, along with Mr Limpopo 2025, Theuns de Jager, will be at Platinum Park Spar to collect non-perishable food items.

This effort is part of the Power Towers Food Drive led by the RoleModel Foundation, a nationwide initiative aimed at building towers of donated food in various provinces.

Shoppers are encouraged to buy food and donate it on-site.

A friendly competition between provinces will see which region builds the tallest food tower by 15:00 on November 9.

“We need sponsors and bulk donors to make a significant impact,” said Du Bruyn. “The more we receive, the more people we can help. Every item will be donated to a charity, ensuring it reaches those in need.”

Join Jolene and her team at Platinum Park Spar on November 9 from 08:00 to 15:00 and be part of this impactful cause.

Together, we can help build hope – one food tower at a time.

What you can donate:

• Non-perishable food.
• Sanitary towels and toiletries.
• Pet food (for dogs and cats).
• Unused household items.
• Cash donations.
