Mitchell House wins Vice Chancellor’s debate title

Mitchell House's debate team outshines 100 schools to win the championship, showcasing exceptional critical thinking and eloquence.

POLOKWANE – Mitchell House College’s debate team participated in the Vice Chancellor’s Championship competition at the University of Limpopo on Saturday on took first spot.

Out of 100 participating schools, Mitchell House showed dedication, eloquence and critical thinking with all the topics, which set them apart from their competitors.

Mabetji Mankga (Gr 11), Mu’aaz Mayet (Gr 12) and Nikiwe Nkonyama (Gr 12) represented the school well, and were awarded with medals.

“We believe that participating in such debate championships promote problem-solving and innovative thinking and also helps the learners build links between words and ideas that make concepts more meaningful. The championship exercises creativity and implement different ways of knowing. Congratulations to our team for winning,” principal Stephen Lowry said.
