LIMPOPO – Limpopo Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, takes #Dikgerekgere Wednesdays, to all roads leading to tourist attractions.

Ramathuba, accompanied by the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Ernest Rachoene and MEC for Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, Tshitereke Matibe, focused on the D3682 road, leading to Nwanedi-Luphephe Resort in Musina Local Municipality in the Vhembe district.

This special focus is one of many that will happen across the province, even beyond Tourism Month as these roads are critical for economic growth.

#Dikgerekgere Wednesdays, a programme to revitalise road infrastructure have made a mark across all Limpopo districts, blading, gravelling and debushing various gravel roads, to make life for residents easier and more accessible.

Ramathuba said the #Dikgerekgere Wednesday service delivery initiative is making a positive impact in communities.

“The road users appreciate the great work that is done by the Department of Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure, under the leadership of the MEC,” said Ramathuba.

Rachoene said the roads that are leading to other tourism destinations in the province are also being prioritised.

“Through the programme government will continue to upgrade road infrastructures, to better the lives of the people of Limpopo,” said Rachoene.

Musina Mayor, Nkhanedzeni Godfrey Mawela thanked the government for bringing services closer to the people.

“This is a service delivery programme aimed at fast tracking the blading and re-gravelling of access roads, to tourism destinations in the province,” said Mawela.
