Polokwane netball legend celebrated

Polokwane's netball community honours Victor Seakamela for his lifelong commitment to developing talent and shaping the sport.

POLOKWANE – Rose Malotane Mamabolo, the deputy chair of the Polokwane Netball League, has praised veteran coach Victor Seakamela for his significant contribution to netball development in Polokwane.

Seakamela, the founder of Young Fighters Netball Club, has spent the past 39 years discovering and nurturing talent, producing top players like Cecilia Molekwane and Terrisa Duba, who now hold influential positions in the netball community.

Mamabolo conveyed the league’s gratitude for Seakamela’s unwavering dedication.

“His ability to nurture and develop players with patience highlights his commitment to their growth. He not only builds skill and strategy but fosters confidence and resilience, leaving a lasting impact on every individual he trains.”

She highlighted Seakamela’s foundational role in shaping players through essential skills, discipline, and a strong work ethic.

“By instilling technical proficiency, physical fitness, and mental resilience, he ensures players develop as athletes and individuals, preparing them for challenges on and off the court.”

Mamabolo further described Seakamela as a leader, mentor, and support system within the netball fraternity.

“His leadership provides vision and direction, while his mentorship and support foster the development of players and coaches. His influence has elevated the sport, inspired individuals, and strengthened the netball community.”
