PCS appoints Douw Grobler as deputy principal

Douw Grobler joins PCS as deputy principal, he is excited for new challenges, experiences, and developing as a leader.

POLOKWANE – Douw Grobler officially joined Pietersburg Comprehensive School (PCS) as the new deputy principal, having started in the second week of September.

Grobler brings with him 14 years of experience from Laerskool Ivypark, where he taught various subjects and served as a hockey coach.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the new role, Grobler said, “Leaving Laerskool Ivypark was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make. Over the past 14 years, I built strong relationships, shaped young minds, and grew alongside an incredible team. Ivypark became more than just a workplace; it was my second home. However, I felt it was time to embrace a new challenge, and the opportunity at PCS came at the perfect moment. Here, I can leverage my experience in a dynamic environment while continuing to develop as a leader.”

Grobler said he is excited to work with principal Rudi Fick, calling it “any young leader’s dream.”

“His vision and leadership have been truly inspiring, and it’s an honour to collaborate with someone of his calibre. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by teachers, the School Governing Body, learners and parents – with open arms. Their love and support have made this transition incredibly rewarding.”

He added that the sense of community at PCS is something unique, making him feel truly blessed to be part of the school.

Grobler said he looks forward to contributing to the ongoing success of Pietersburg Comprehensive School.
