Polokwane Gymstars head to SA Games

Gymstars gymnasts excel in Limpopo championships, claiming multiple gold medals and securing places in the national SA Games.

POLOKWANE – Gymstars senior gymnasts and their coaches have been included in the Limpopo team of gymnastics level 4-8, to compete at the South African Gymnastics Games held in Cape Town from September 22-29.

The competition is a significant event on the gymnastics calendar and attracts top talent from across the country.

Limpopo Championship results:

1. Hugo du Plessis – level six in the men’s artistic gymnastics in the 15-18 years category (first place overall, 6 gold medals for all his apparatus, first place in his age group and trophy for overall winner of all age groups level six).
2. Durandt Boshoff – level eight in the men’s artistic gymnastics in the 15-18 year category (first overall, 6 gold medals for all his apparatus, first place in his age group and trophy for overall winner of all age groups level eight).
3. Moyagabo Moshokwa rhythmic gymnastics – level seven u/15 (first overall, 3 gold medals for all her apparatus).
4. Ditheto Mahomole rhyhtmic gymnastics – level six u/15 (first overall, 3 gold medals for all her apparatus).
5. Moagabo Modiba rhythmic gymnastics – level five u/12 (first overall, 3 gold medals for all her apparatus).
6 Mercy Mahomole rhythmic gymnastics – level four u/12 (first overall 2 gold medals for rope and clubs).

“I’m very proud of our gymnasts, they’ve done well in the championships,” said Gymstars owner and head coach, Lelanie Logtenberg.
