Cultural fusion at PEPPS’ music competition
PEPPS hosts thrilling song and dance competition, celebrating global cultures and musical heritage, inspired by Paris 2024 Olympics.
POLOKWANE – PEPPS College hosted a vibrant song and dance competition on August 29.
The event was coordinated by Samantha Hultum and inspired by the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and transported the audience around the world with lively performances showcasing the musical heritage of various nations.
The learners brought traditional beats and tunes to life, captivating everyone in attendance.
Each class selected a country to represent and spent months preparing their performances, which were judged by Sue Altenroxel, Katlego Mpepele and Rethabile Mothapo.
Learners worked together to create captivating routines that impressed both the judges and the audience, who couldn’t resist joining in the fun. Hultum said: “The learners truly wowed the judges, and their energy had the audience singing and dancing along”.
Teachers also took to the stage with their own performances, leaving learners in awe.
“Our learners didn’t know their teachers were so talented,” Hultum added.
Judge Rethabile Mothapo expressed her delight, saying, the competition was an absolute blast.
“You could feel the energy and excitement in the air. It was amazing to see so many different cultures come to life through the music, dances, and unique outfits. It was definitely a lot of fun.”
