Robbery/hijacking victims urged to join identity parade

Victims are invited to identify suspects from a series of photos to assist in the legal process that could lead to convictions and imprisonment.

POLOKWANE – Commuters who have previously been victims of robbery or hijacking in the Polokwane and Westenburg policing areas are encouraged to participate in an ongoing identity parade, which began on Wednesday evening and will continue indefinitely.

According to Westenburg police, numerous suspects involved in crimes at popular hiking spots in and around the city have been arrested.

Victims are invited to identify suspects from a series of photos to assist in the legal process that could lead to convictions and imprisonment.

Notable hiking spots identified by police include areas around Kuschke, the Matlala and Makhado roads, the R101 and Botlokwa.

Commuters who believe they can assist the police in the identification process are urged to contact Capt Eddie Hlaraka at 082 525 7476 or Det Johannes Chokwe at 068 5111 7000.

Alternatively, they can visit the Westenburg Police Station for more information.
