Emergency work to affect water supply in parts of Polokwane

A 15-hour shutdown of the Sand River North Manganese Plant will affect Ladanna, Annadale, Emdo Park and several other areas on Friday (September 13).

POLOKWANE – Residents and businesses in several suburbs of Polokwane will be affected by emergency repair work by the Polokwane Municipality.

Municipl spokesperson Thipa Selala said the replacement of valves will be conducted at the Sand River North Manganese Plant on Friday September (13) from 07h00 to 22h00.

“This emergency maintenance is essential to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the water supply system, and the municipality aims to restore full functionality as swiftly as possible. The municipality will provide temporary relief of water supply in the form of water tankers to the affected areas during the replacement of valves,” his statement read.

To facilitate this critical work, the plant will be temporarily shut down for the duration of the replacement.

The following areas will be affected:
o Annadale
o Emdo
o Gateway Airports Authority Limited (GAAL)
o Ladanna
o Ladine
o Lesedi Park
o Luthuli
o Mahlako a Phahla
o Mahlasedi Park
o Mapungubwe Regiment (formerly Regiment Christiaan Beyers)
