PEPPS shines in chess league

PEPPS College Chess team shines, with u/19 team winning silver and u/15 team taking fourth place at Independent Schools Finals.

POLOKWANE – The PEPPS College Chess team has shown remarkable growth and progress in the Capricorn Chess Leagues.

Last year, both the u/19 and u/15 teams earned commendable fifth place finishes, laying a solid foundation for future achievements.

At the Independent Schools Finals, held at Stanford Lake College on August 7, the teams returned stronger than ever.

The u/19 team clinched a well-deserved silver medal, establishing their status as one of the top competitors. Standout player Bonolo Madisha also emerged as the best performer on board six.

The u/15 team displayed exceptional skill and determination, securing fourth place, with Thabang Legodi leading as the top player on board one.

This year’s accomplishments mark a significant milestone for PEPPS College Chess as the players continue to refine their skills and strive for excellence with each game.
