MEPS donates books to local schools

MEPS donates books to local schools and individuals, promoting reading and giving back to the community.

POLOKWANE – In a gesture of community support, MEPS donated a large collection of books to local schools and individuals.

The donation comes as part of the school’s ongoing efforts to update their library with materials that better align with the current curriculum and interests of their learners.

Principal Sandy Pitsi explained that the books, while no longer in use at MEPS, still hold great value for others.

“Instead of letting these books sit idle in our storeroom, our librarian saw an opportunity to share them with the local community. This reflects our commitment to promoting a reading culture not just within our school, but beyond.”

MEPS learners show some of the school’s library books. Front: Praise Mauto, Zwavhudi Dabishi and Tumisho Mashilo. Back: Tebogo Lephale, Rebone Ramokgopa, Naledi Moganedi, Tshegofatso Madutlela and Precious Bvumbi.

The initiative is also an expression of gratitude and the spirit of community that MEPS holds dear.

“Over the years, the school has received support from parents, community members, and organisations. “We’re always open to receiving support, but there’s great value in giving back too,” Pitsi added.

He said that giving to the community can inspire others to do the same, creating a cycle of generosity.

“By donating these books, we hope to strengthen bonds within the community and encourage others to join in this effort.”

The school looks forward to seeing how these books will benefit the local community and hopes to continue both giving and receiving in the future.
