Thohoyandou author pens new and inspiring book

Tracy Singo, a gunshot survivor, shares her inspiring story in "God Will Never Fail You", a testament to faith and resilience.

LIMPOPO – Tracy Singo from Mukumbani village outside Thohoyandou in Vhembe has penned an emotional and inspiring book entitled ‘God Will Never Fail You’.

Singo, who started writing motivational books in 2008, found it easy to transition into authorship because of her experience supervising postgraduate students’ dissertations.

Singo holds multiple degrees including a B.Sc with majors in chemistry and biochemistry, a B.Sc Honours degree in biochemistry, an M.Sc degree in biochemistry, and an advanced diploma in higher education from the University of Free State.

Her motivation to write came from her own life experiences, particularly after surviving a gunshot wound to the head, with the bullet lodged in her brain.

“I realised that other people may be motivated by my story, seeing that even with a bullet in my head, I am still living a positive life. The crime wave is so high it looks as if everyone will experience some form of crime in their lifetime. It scares me to think what kind of society we are living in. The morale among most South Africans is very low. One cannot live by oneself when things are like this. God is our only refuge because not even the law is helping people live in peace. We live in fear, and we spend so much on security. Often, we find ourselves asking questions such as, why is it like this? Is this how God wants us to live?” said Singo.

Despite never having read a full book herself, preferring comics, Singo finds great satisfaction in writing.

“To be a writer means I can communicate with other people, motivate others, and impart knowledge through my writing. My goal is to write a book that can be read by the world and to be a known author. My biggest achievement is being able to write four books with a bullet in my head and using only my right hand, as my left hand is too weak to type. Another significant achievement was speaking in front of nearly all South African University Rectors in Cape Town. Graduating with my diploma at the University of the Free State, with a bullet in my head, was another milestone,” she said.

Singo was encouraged to write as she wanted to share her experiences with others.

“The only solution in this life is to seek the presence of God in our lives. He will never disappoint or let us down. When nothing makes sense, He will restore sense and lead you to the right path. With Him, all things are possible. You can always count on Him,” she said.
