PEPPS learners’ wild VR experience

PEPPS learners go on a virtual safari adventure, immersing themselves in the African savanna and gaining a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation.

POLOKWANE – PEPPS Early Childhood Development (ECD) and preparatory learners recently embarked on an extraordinary journey, exploring the wonders of an African safari through a captivating virtual reality (VR) experience.

The young learners were ‘transported’ to the heart of the savanna, where they found themselves walking side by side with majestic lions, witnessing the wild in a way that traditional classrooms could never offer.

Penny Mojapelo, PEPPS media officer, said the VR experience was so immersive that the learners could almost feel the warmth of the sun on their faces and hear the gentle rustle of tall grass as the lions moved gracefully around them.

“This innovative approach to education not only made learning about wildlife conservation more engaging but also allowed our learners to explore the natural world in a way that traditional textbooks simply can’t offer,” she said.

Mojapelo added that the excitement in the room was palpable as learners, through virtual reality, observed the lions in their natural habitat, gaining a deeper understanding of these creatures and the importance of protecting them.

“It was a day filled with awe and inspiration, showing our learners that the possibilities for learning are truly limitless with technology,” she concluded.
