PEPPS wows with ‘Godspell Reimagined’

The opening night of the 'Godspell Reimagined' production was met with resounding applause and a standing ovation from the audience.

POLOKWANE – The production of ‘Godspell Reimagined’ wowed audiences at PEPPS with its vibrant portrayal of timeless parables, from July 31-August 2.

The musical, which is based primarily on the Gospel of Matthew with some stories from the Gospel of Luke, culminates in a moving depiction of the Passion of Christ.

Katlego Mpepele, the head of culture at PEPPS Polokwane, said the production brought the crucifixion of Christ to life through a dynamic blend of song and dance.

“The parables featured include beloved stories such as the Prodigal Son, the Good Samaritan, the Sower, and the Growing Seeds – parables we all know and love,” Mpepele shared.

The opening night was met with resounding applause, culminating in a standing ovation from the audience.

Amanda Korff, the executive head of PEPPS, expressed her pride in the cast and crew.

“Well done to Katlego, your team, and the cast of Godspell. What a beautiful combination of art, humour, singing talent and deep emotion, all powerfully delivering the Word of God. Many hearts were deeply touched,” Korff said.

The production’s successful run is a testament to the hard work and passion of everyone involved, leaving a lasting impact on those who attended.
