Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba reports that law enforcement agencies, including SAPS units, SANDF, private security companies, sister departments, community partnerships, and other stakeholders, participated in operations across five districts.

These operations, which involved roadblocks and stop and searches, targeted prevalent crime trends in the Limpopo province.

“During these operations, two firearms, ammunition, and five stolen or hijacked motor vehicles were recovered,” says Ledwaba.

The suspects faced charges related to various offences such as burglary, assault, carjacking, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, drug dealing, rape, murder, theft of motor vehicles, and possession of dangerous weapons.

“Around thirty-two of the arrested suspects were wanted for violent crimes, including rape, robberies, and assaults causing grievous bodily harm.”

Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Hadebe expressed appreciation for the efforts of law enforcement in combatting crime.

“We appreciate all the magnificent efforts displayed by the law enforcement agencies for hitting hard on criminals and keeping the citizens of this province safe and secured.”
