Planned electricity supply interruption to affect Thornhill

A three hour electricity supply interruption will affect several estates and businesses in and around Thornhill due to maintenance work.

POLOKWANE – Residents and businesses in the Thornhill area will be affected by a scheduled electricity supply interruption on Wednesday.

The Polokwane Municipallity says the three-hour interruption will take place from 09:00 to 12:00 on August 7.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said the following areas will be affected:

  • Thornhill Village
  • Thornhill Estate
  • Thornhill Shopping Centre
  • Northview Estate
  • Marula Heights Estate.

“This interruption is necessary to carry out essential maintenance work at the Thornhill Substation,” Selala said.

He added that all affected parties should make necessary arrangements and take appropriate measures to minimize any inconvenience/damage.

  • Ensure that any sensitive electronic equipment is adequately protected.
  • Plan activities around the scheduled outage to avoid disruption.
  • Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed to maintain temperature.
