Elderly Limpopo woman shot and killed by balaclava-wearing man

Preliminary reports indicate an unknown male suspect entered the house through an opened door and shot the elderly woman before fleeing the scene on foot. 

LIMPOPO – A manhunt is currently underway by the police in Motetema in the Sekhukhune district for a suspect believed to be involved in the murder of a 70-year-old woman in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the woman was shot at the Mgababa residential premises in Tafelkop at around 06:00 by a man allegedly wearing a balaclava and hand gloves.

“The police were alerted about a murder in the area and rushed to the scene. They found the female victim with gunshot wounds to the forehead upon arrival and she was certified dead on arrival by emergency services,” his statement read.

A preliminary report indicated that an unknown male suspect entered the house through an opened door and shot the elderly woman before fleeing the scene on foot.
