Jabez staff and learners donate to Centenary House

Jabez Christian Academy donates 270 food items to Centenary House, supporting residents with disabilities.

POLOKWANE – Learners of Jabez Christian Academy demonstrated their empathy with residents of Centenary House when a consignment of 270 non-perishable food items was handed to Desiré Herb, acting director of the Association of and for People with Disabilities (APD).

Staff members and learners contributed a variety of canned fish, vegetables and fruit and it appeared that the nutritional value of baked beans in tomato sauce was thoroughly recognised.

Herb thanked the donors for the kind gesture and explained that the APD is managing Centenary House on a very tight budget and that donations are always welcome.

“At Centenary House we are taking care of persons with disabilities and will welcome school groups to visit our facility and show the residents that they are not forgotten,” Herb said.

Jabez Principal Dr Elana Erasmus commended Herb on the sterling job that they are doing at Centenary House and assured her of the school’s support.
