POLOKWANE – The City of Polokwane will play host to the Homecoming Street Parade for popular Limpopo singer Makhadzi.
The parade is set to begin at 11:30 this morning at the Meropa Casino and Entertainment World and weave its way through Polokwane before making its way to Mankweng.
The parade celebrate’s Makhadzi’s recent BET Awards win where she scooped up the coveted Best International Act and the ceremony hosted at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said residents and visitors are invited to come out and witness the event and celebrate Makhadzi’s win.
“The following routes will be temporarily affected by the street parade as the convoy passes through,” he said.

- R101 to the circle between Ivy Park and Nirvana (connecting Nelson Mandela Drive, R101, Grobler, Thabo Mbeki and Campbell Street)

- Landdros Mare Steet
- Grobler Street straight into the R71 to Mankweng (passing Paledi Mall)
- Makanye robots onto Mankweng Street
- University Road (from Gate Two of the University of Limpopo)
- Shell traffic signals, towards the church
- Houtboschdorp Road, straight to Paledi robots
- R71, at the Tzaneen by-pass on to the N1 South to Meropa.
