Sugar and Spice hosts Quiz Night

The Quiz Night united the community for a fun evening of competition, awareness, and fundraising, collecting donations for those in need.

POLOKWANE – Wally Strauss, the owner and founder of Qeshet Events and Marketing, organised a vibrant Quiz Night at Sugar and Spice on Friday, aimed at engaging the community, raising awareness on important issues, and fundraising for various organisations in need.

The event organised by Strauss, alongside his wife Liné, featured teams of six competing with strict rules: no shouting out answers, no Googling, and bonus questions to boost scores. Strauss, serving as the master of ceremonies, announced prizes sponsored by BakeryCo, Plato, Knip Skoonheid by Chané Wilhite and Bendor Padel.

“This winter, we wanted to reach out to those in less fortunate conditions,” Strauss emphasised. Guests were encouraged to bring food and clothing donations to assist the needy.

In a surprising twist, Strauss delighted participants with a colourful disco outfit and dance routine during the event.

The highlight of the night was the victory of the El Chapo team in the quiz.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Strauss expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and generosity of donations, surpassing expectations.

“We will use these donations to support shelters and help feed and clothe those in need, especially children, this winter,” he said.

Looking ahead, Strauss plans to collaborate with Drienie van Wyk from Leeukuil Shelter to expand their outreach efforts. Those interested in sponsoring or donating can contact Wally via WhatsApp at 072 793 8292 for more information on how to get involved.

Details about the donation outreach activities will be announced on Wally’s social media platforms later this month, ensuring continued community engagement and support.
