Mitchell House learner’s book encourages sustainable future
Almaaz Gani (15) has written a book to inspire her peers to take action against pollution and environmental destruction.
POLOKWANE – In a time marked by pollution, fossil fuel shortages, and loadshedding, 15-year-old Mitchell House learner Almaaz Gani (Gr 10) has emerged as a beacon of hope with her new book, ‘A Dolphin’s Tale: A Whistle for Help’.
Gani’s book combines storytelling and educational information to inspire readers, particularly the youth, to take action in saving the planet.
“In the book, I speak directly to the youth and bring home the message on the importance of recycling, reducing, and reusing, reminding us of the beauty and purity of nature,” she explained.
Gani expressed the hope that the book will raise awareness among young people and spread her message of environmental responsibility.
“Read the book; it’s a heartwarming and hopeful story. All profits from this book will go towards conservation initiatives,” she told Review.
The book features illustrations by Shayle Bester and is available at various outlets, and as a paperback or e-book.
Through her work, Gani aims to educate and inspire her peers to recognise that every small effort counts in the fight to protect the planet.
Gani also gave out some of her books for free to the junior phase learners to keep and read at home.
