Rapper Shebeshxt unable to attend daughter’s (9) burial

Shebe was en-route to perform at the ANC Siyanqoba Rally in his hometown at the time of the incident which took the life of his daughter, Onthatile.

POLOKWANE – Two weeks after a car accident left him severely injured, superstar rapper Shebeshxt, also known as Shebe, was unable to attend the final send-off of his daughter, Onthatile Gladys Chuene, following her funeral service on Saturday.

The burial took place in the rapper’s hometown of Lebowakgomo.

The incident, which occurred outside Polokwane on June 9 at around 22:30, resulted in Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Chauke (28), suffering multiple bone fractures, internal bleeding, and swelling.

His partner, Onthatile’s mother, sustained minor injuries.

Tragically, their nine-year-old daughter did not survive the collision, which involved Shebe’s hatchback and a heavy motor vehicle on the R37 near the Smelters.

Shebe was en-route to perform at the ANC Siyanqoba Rally in his hometown at the time of the incident.

Despite his injuries, Shebe was transported from the hospital to his home for the funeral service, however he was not able to attend the burial.

Security was tight, and the use of cameras was strictly prohibited. The service saw significant support from fellow artists, politicians, and fans.

After the funeral, Shebe was readmitted to a private facility to continue his recovery.

He had undergone several medical operations following the accident.

His mother revealed that the family had delayed Onthatile’s burial to allow Shebe to be present, but his condition prevented him from attending the cemetery service.

The incident has drawn immense public sympathy and highlighted the community’s support for Shebe during his recovery and period of mourning.
