PCS choir undaunted at SA School Choral Eisteddfod

The budding choristers 'dominated the competition' and dazzled the judging panel and audience with melody and dance.

POLOKWANE – The choir from Pietersburg Comprehensive School won the South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod held in Seshego on May 3, after competing against schools in the Polokwane Circuit and the Seshego area.

The budding choristers dazzled the judging panel and audience with melody and dance. Elmarie Swanepoel, a teacher at the school said the choir did exceptionally well at the competition.

“They sang like angels. They dominated the competition and we are happy. It is a pleasure to work with them, as they love music and are not shy to express themselves on stage. They will be going into the next stage of the competition and we wish them well.”

The eisteddfod remains one of the most crucial school enrichment programmes coordinated by the Department of Basic Education to promote unity in diversity, national reconciliation, positive values, a new South African national identity, social transformation and social cohesion among school-going South African youths.
