Limpopo police launch search for missing boy (8)

Rifumo Chabalala was last seen leaving his home in Khakhala village, Muyexe, to play with friends at the local soccer field.

LIMPOPO – The police in the Muyexe policing area outside Giyani have launched an extensive search operation to locate a missing 8-year-old boy, Rifumo Chabalala.

Chabalala, according to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, resides in Khakhala village in Muyexe and went missing on Monday afternoon (June 3).

“According to preliminary information, the child left home at about 16:00 to play with friends at the local soccer field but never returned home. The boy’s family reported the matter to the local police yesterday and a joint search operation ensued comprising of the Muyexe and Giyani SAPS, the Search and Rescue Unit and the K9 Unit. The operation was also supported by community members which went all over the area searching for the victim with no success,” he said.

Ledwaba appeals to anyone with information that can assist with reuniting the child with his family to urgently contact the investigating officer Warrant Officer Tinyiko Mabasa on 067 565 0240, the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, the nearest police station or via the MySAPSApp.
