Polokwane dog enthusiasts enjoy trail run and fun walk

The primary objectives are to raise funds for SPCA adopted pets and to promote awareness of dog health and safety, among other important causes.

POLOKWANE – Dog enthusiasts and their beloved pets enjoyed a trail run and walk at The Stable Yard Venue Polokwane in Doornbult, courtesy of the venue management and the SPCA this Saturday (May 11).

This inaugural event, a collaborative effort between the two organisers, is intended to become a recurring gathering, possibly on a quarterly basis.

The primary objectives are to raise funds for SPCA adopted pets and to promote awareness of dog health and safety, among other important causes.

The organisers are already planning the next similar event, scheduled as a fundraiser on Women’s Day, August 9.

Participants in the trail run were eligible to win various prizes, all attainable at an affordable fee. Additionally, remarkable prizes were bestowed upon the dogs themselves.

Betsy van der Merwe, owner of the venue, expressed her gratitude for the generous contributions from sponsors.

“We were fortunate to offer fantastic prizes not only for the dog owners but also for their furry companions. These included two six-month gym contracts generously sponsored by Bodylife Gym, as well as three months’ CrossFit membership. It’s essential to acknowledge and appreciate our sponsors for their support: Body Life Gym, Crossfit Polokwane, Bendor Padel, Platinum Park SuperSpar, Ionic Cleanse Detox, Neroli Beauty and Laser Clinic, Tyre Rack, Outback Trading Company, Anderson Financial Services, Montego for the dog food samples, Bravecto for providing bags and leashes for the dogs, the Mollie Hawken Animal Clinic, The Stable Yard and SPCA Polokwane Charity Shop,” she remarked.
