WATER UPDATE: Olifantspoort Plant restored to full capacity

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala confirmed that Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) successfully completed repairs following a stoppage at the Olifantspoort Plant on Monday.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality said they will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide relief where needed as reservoir levels continue to recover.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala confirmed that Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) successfully completed repairs following a stoppage at the Olifantspoort Plant on Monday.

The stoppage was caused by a pipe leak on the Specon pipeline and another pipe leak located outside pump station 2.

“We are optimistic that all affected areas will resume normal water supply as the Olifantspoort line has been restored to full capacity. The municipality understands the inconvenience caused by the shortage of water due to recent stoppages on both the Ebenezer and Olifantspoort lines, resulting in low reservoir levels in most areas,” Selala said.
