Police investigate two separate murder cases in Seshego

The motives behind the murder of a 47-year-old man in Ga-Mokgokong village and the stabbing of a 25-year-old man at a tavern in Juju Valley will form part of police investigations.

POLOKWANE – The police in Seshego have launched a manhunt for the suspects behind the murders of two men in separate incidents over the weekend.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba says the first incident involves the murder of a 47-year-old man who was shot and killed at his residence in Ga-Mokgokong village, on Saturday night (April 13).

“The police were summoned to the scene where the victim was shot in cold blood by the suspect who had knocked on the door and called his name. The victim was found lying in front of his house with a gunshot wound,” he explained.

Mashaba said the man was certified dead by emergency services.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were driving a sedan which they parked next to the gate while the gunman entered the yard looking for the victim,” he said.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death by an unknown suspect on Saturday morning at a tavern in Juju Valley following an altercation.

“The suspect fled the scene after the incident. The victim succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at a local hospital,” Mashaba said.

He added that the victims’ identities are currently withheld and will be announced as investigations unfold.

“Police have opened cases of murder. The motives are still unknown, but further police investigations will determine them,” he said.
