Nare’s chillie sauce is the perfect condiment for any dish

Nare Manamela said she took a leap of faith by buying ingredients to make her sauce. She now sells it for R50 a bottle.

POLOKWANE – Looking to make extra cash to pay for her studies, Nare Manamela started making chillie sauce.

The 36-year-old from Mmotong wa Perekisi started Nare’s Chillie Sauce in January.

She explained that she has always liked being creative in the kitchen and before she formally started her business, she used to make chillie sauce which she would give to her family and friends when they visited.

“I did not think of turning it into a business but earlier this year, I wanted to further my studies and I couldn’t afford to. The sauces became a way of making extra money to pay for my fees,” she said.

She took a leap of faith and bought ingredients and made sauces after work.

The next day, she went with the sauce to work for her colleagues to taste and they loved it, and now she produces on a bigger scale.

“The journey has been interesting. There is a lot that goes into making chillie sauce. It’s the small things like cleaning the fresh chillies thoroughly and making sure that the recipe is followed to the letter so that the taste doesn’t change. It must be consistent at all times,” she said.

She used her money in the faith that the business would succeed, she told BONUS, and now she is looking for angel investors.

She attends various exhibitions to interact with other businesspeople, learn how to access funding and to create a network of support.

She wishes to one day have her product in stores.

In the meantime, you can place your order on WhatsApp on 078 681 3530/ 067 386 0571 at R50 per bottle.
