POLOKWANE – The Olifantspoort Plant has stopped operations once again following challenges earlier this week
The Polokwane Municipality said they were informed by Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) that pump station two (PS2) stopped due to a leaking pipe and there is no water supply to the city as a result.
On Wednesday, LNW had to stop operations due to a malfunction with the high-lift pump’s delivery valve.
“Although supply was restored, PS2 encountered further issues on Thursday, including power disruptions, pipe leaks, and faulty motors. Despite efforts to restore supply, PS2 experienced yet another pipe leak last night which is currently being addressed,” municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said.
Selala said all residents within the Polokwane Municipality will be affected.
“Water tankers will continue to assist all affected areas until normal supply is restored,” he said.
